Ski holidays in France

France is one of the UK’s most popular destinations for skiing holidays, with over 200,000 people a year going there. At The Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors we offer both short ski breaks and longer skiing holidays in France. Its easy access from the UK makes French skiing breaks the most accessible and affordable in Europe.
France has numerous resorts, offering varied and extensive skiing and reliable snow cover for skiers of all abilities. Ski breaks range from small Alpine village resorts to large, modern “ski-in ski-out” complexes. France has the largest number of interlinked ski areas in the world.
French ski resorts cater for all abilities, with attentive and enthusiastic ski instructors and knowledgeable guides. Accommodation is in French ski chalets or hotels, with catered chalets being a popular option.

Where to take skiing holidays in France

The most popular skiing areas in France are: the Three Valleys (incorporating Meribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens); L'Espace Killy (linking Tignes and Val D'Isere); the newly built Paradiski district (linking La Plagne and Les Arcs); the Portes du Soleil and the Espace San Bernardo.
The top ten resorts for ski holidays in France are: Val d'Isere, La Plagne, Meribel, Chamonix, Les Arcs, Courchevel, , Les Deux Alpes, Val Thorens, Tignes and Alpe d'Huez.

Skiing holidays in Val d'Isère

Val d'Isère is a popular choice for serious skiers who like plenty of après ski action. Together with Tignes, it forms part of the L'Espace Killy region, famous for its high quality snow. Val d'Isère is rated in the top 5 destinations for ski holidays in Europe, and top 10 in the world.
Val d'Isère is at the bottom of a deep valley near the Lac du Chevril, beneath whose waters the old town of Tignes sank, in 1952. There is an Olympic downhill run which offers a riotous descent during French holidays, while the cosmopolitan après ski activities are first class.

Skiing breaks in Les Arcs and Chamonix

Les Arcs offers some of the best skiing breaks in the world, spread among four top resorts offering skiing for all abilities and many high profile schools take ski holidays here.  Les Arcs is linked to La Plagne by the unique Vanoise Express double decker cable car.
Chamonix is a year round resort, courtesy of its stunning landscape. During the winter, it offers superb skiing in three ski areas. The more challenging runs include the famous Grands Montets and the steep off piste areas of the Vallée Blanche.
At The Co-operative Personal Travel Advisors, we have many more ski breaks in France, so speak to our advisors for help with your skiing holidays.
